$950 per person for the full pottery courseLet’s start with the basics! In this class, you’ll learn how to wedge and reclaim clay, then get hands-on with an introduction to wheel throwing. We’ll walk you through centering the clay and shaping simple, beautiful pieces like bowls, cups, and small pots.
Unleash your creativity with stains and engobes! You’ll learn how to mix engobes and create your own custom clay colors by adding pigments to white clay. Then head to the wheel to shape your piece and trim it, revealing a beautiful, eye-catching pattern underneath.
Experience the joy of hand-building! In this class, you’ll create two unique bowls using the pinch pot technique, each with its own organic feel. You’ll also learn coil building to craft another beautiful, one-of-a-kind bowl.
.Take your pottery skills further by making a charming mug and saucer on the wheel. You’ll also learn how to trim the base for a clean, professional finish. Then we’ll move to the table, where you’ll pull a handle for your mug and add your own personal decorative touches.
Time to try slab building, a new hand-building technique! You’ll work with clay slabs and carefully join them together to form the vase shape you envision.
6 Class: Lids
Take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level in this hands-on class. You’ll learn how to throw a jar and make a lid that fits perfectly. As a finishing touch, we’ll also introduce colored slip (engobes) to add a pop of color to your piece.
7 Class: The Teapot
Get ready for the ultimate challenge! In this class, you’ll combine everything you’ve learned to create one of the most complex ceramic forms—the teapot. You’ll explore how to design a well-balanced structure and pick up practical tips to prevent drips from the spout.
8 Class: Glazing
Welcome to the world of glazes! In this class, you’ll experiment with different glazing techniques, learn what goes into them, and explore creative combinations. From dipping and pouring to brushwork and bubble glazing, you’ll get to finish all the pieces you’ve made in previous sessions.
